Safety Officer

Qualifications & Experience:

• Grade 12
• National Diploma in Safety Management or other relevant tertiary qualification
• Strong knowledge of the MHSA
• Competent A training will be an added advantage
• Strong computer skills
• Driver’s licence
• Minimum of 5 years’ relevant experience in opencast mining

Key Responsibilities:

• Facilitate risk assessment processes and respond to crisis, incidents, legal inspections and targeted campaigns
• Interpret safety and health leading and lagging indicators.
• Compilation of safety and health statistics reports and present to management.
• Assist all operations by developing training materials, procedures, systems and standards.
• Promote a strong safety culture on site
