Founded in 2005 by Mr. Koos Reinecke, the company has grown from a single crushing operation at Eskom’s Tutuka Power Station into a diversified, multi-site mining services provider delivering high-volume production across open-cast mining, discard processing, land rehabilitation, and logistics.

2005 - Formation
Isambane Mining is established by Mr. Koos Reinecke in partnership with Ms. Lindiwe Mokgokong and Ms. Thandeka Mbethe. The foundation is laid for a values-driven, performance-foucssed mining enterprise.
2007 - First Major Operational Launch
Awarded the Landmark Tutuka Power Station crushing contract, processing 300 000 tons of ROM per month - the first major step in Isambane's growth.
2007 - 2015 - Eskom Material Handling Footprint Expands
Large-scale crushing and screening operations established at Kendal, Duvha, Arnot, Hendrina, and Kriel power stations, solidifying Isambane as a trusted and dependable contractor within the energy sector.
2007 - 2021 - Growth of Transport and Logistics Division
A logistics fleet of 77 linked trucks is built, handling high-volume coal haulage, including 450 000 tons per month for Glencore - marking a major expansion into the transport value-chain.
2010 - 2015 - Diamon Mining Expansion
Isambane operates an owned diamon mine in Douglas, diversifying the company's mining portfolio and technical experience.
2012 - Establishment of the Contract Mining Division
Long-term opencast operations commence with Msobo coal, sustaining 1.0 to 1.5 Million BCM Per Month across multiple pits and positioning Isambane as a serious contender in the contract mining arena.
2013 - 2026 - Rail Logistics Hub
Isambane begins operating the Wonderfontein Siding, loading up to 100 000 tons of product per month - further integrating logistics into its turnkey mining capability.
2013 - 2018 - Expansion into Botswana
The company develops and manages a commercial quarry supplying construction materials across regional markets, broadening its cross-border presence.
2022 - 2024 - Strategic Corporate Restructuring
The Providere JV - led by Mr. Banzi Giyozi, Mr. Johan Venter, Mr. Jorrie Jordaan, and Providens NPC - acquires a 51% stake in Isambane. This strenghtens B-BBEE position, governance, and alignment with future growth strategy.
2024 - Awarded Major Contracts with Seriti Power
Isambane secures significant, long-term mining contracts with Seriti Power, marking a new chapter of expansion into high-capacity, integrated, mining operations.
2026 - Company Future
The acquisition of the remaining 49% stake from Mr. Koos Reinecke completes the long-term succession strategy, aligning Isambane for its next era of growth, empowerment, and operational leadership.

Banzi Giyose
Chairman and Director
Banzi Giyose is a visionary businessman and mining leader with extensive expertise across resource finance, contract mining, and commodity markets. As Co-Founder and Vice President of BG Global, and a key strategic partner and majority shareholder at Isambane Mining, he brings world-class insight in respect of balance sheet optimisation and growth, commodity diversification, equity growth, mine planning, project development, and operational optimization. Banzi has successfully guided projects across coal, copper, chrome, magnetite, vanadium, lithium, and other base metals, combining hands-on mining knowledge with a deep understanding of resource exploration, commodity marketing, and corporate finance. His leadership ensures that Isambane Mining aligns technical execution with commercial strategy, delivering operational excellence, sustainable growth, and long-term value for clients, shareholders and communities alike.
Johan Venter
Chief Executive Officer
Johan Venter is a respected mining leader with over three decades of experience in South Africa’s mining industry. As CEO and shareholder of Isambane Mining, he leads with purpose, integrity, and a deep commitment to excellence. Since joining Isambane in 2008, Johan has risen through multiple leadership roles, helping transform the company into a trusted opencast mining and plant processing partner. He believes real success comes from strong people, shared ownership, and clear accountability — driving safe operations, high performance, and sustainable growth while creating meaningful impact in the communities Isambane serves.
Jorrie Jordaan
Executive and Operational Director
Jorrie Jordaan is a Chartered Accountant with over 30 years of experience spanning corporate banking, financial management, and coal contract mining. As Executive and Operational Director and shareholder of Isambane Mining, he plays a pivotal role in strengthening financial governance, capital planning, and operational reporting. Jorrie brings a sharp commercial mindset backed by deep expertise in cash flow management, business intelligence, and stakeholder engagement. He is driven by disciplined decision-making, transparency, and sustainable growth, believing that long-term success comes from aligning strategy, systems, and people.
