A brief look at some of Isambane Minings’ more substantial projects in South Africa
Isambane delivers large-scale contract mining services at MMS, operating across two separate pits — Klipfontein and Gwab — located approximately 15 km apart. Combined, these operations consistently achieve production more than 1 million BCM per month
Managing dual mining areas simultaneously demonstrates Isambane’s capability in complex operational coordination, including fleet deployment, production scheduling, and logistical control across multiple sites. The MMS operation highlights our strength in high-volume mining environments, underpinned by disciplined execution, strong safety performance, and reliable delivery at scale.
At Kriel, Isambane undertakes ongoing mine rehabilitation activities averaging approximately 400,000 BCM per month. The project reflects our ability to execute large-scale rehabilitation works in line with regulatory requirements and environmental commitments.
Our work at Kriel demonstrates Isambane’s experience in responsible mining and land restoration, supported by effective planning, skilled teams, and a strong focus on safety and compliance.
The Uitgevallen operation delivers consistent mining production of approximately 330,000 BCM per month. This mid-scale operation showcases Isambane’s ability to maintain stable output through disciplined operational control, efficient fleet utilisation, and experienced site management.
Uitgevallen remains an important contributor to Isambane’s diversified operational portfolio and reinforces our capability to deliver reliable performance across multiple contracts simultaneously.
Bankfontein is Isambane’s newest operation and has recently commenced production. Once fully ramped up to steady state, the operation is expected to achieve production of approximately 80,000 tons per month.
The project demonstrates Isambane’s proven capability to develop and ramp up greenfields mining operations, from initial site establishment through to steady-state production. Bankfontein reflects our structured approach to start-up planning, fleet mobilisation, workforce deployment, and safety systems, applying the same operational discipline and standards established across our existing operations.
