Engineering Manager

Job Purpose:

This position exists to manage workshop and plant earthmoving equipment division.  To support the Area Manager

Qualifications & Experience:

• Minimum grade 12

• Relevant and recognised Tertiary qualifications or recognised Valid Mechanical trade test

• Minimum of 10 years’ opencast mining experience, with at least 5 years’ management experience

• Good communication and people skills

• Computer literate with Word and Excel

Key Responsibilities:

• Maintenance in the workshop area and Earthmoving equipment division

• Management of safety systems in the workplace

• Internal and external customer relations

• Control and authority in the earthmoving division

• Specialised Technical support.

• Manage of time and attendance of technical staff

• Knowledge of MHSA

Personal Profile:

• Communication skills (verbal; written and electronic)

• Planning, Organizing and problem solving

• Time management skills and ability to prioritize work

• Attention to detail and accuracy

• Customer/client focus

• Medical Fitness Records
